It uniquely combines object orientation and static typing with functional programming, which leads to much simpler, yet efficient code. It also has enough new ideas, especially for a Java developer, to make programming fun. Scala can also leverage the Java ecosystem effectively, so all the libraries and frameworks you've come to trust may be used seamlessly. This session will take you on a tour of the Scala language exploring both the object oriented and functional sides.
